MaxFX Laser Skin Resurfacing

Benefits
MaxFX significantly reduces and eliminates deep lines, wrinkles, and severe sun damage while stimulating collagen growth which promotes immediate and progressive tightening of sagging skin. This laser outperforms the Fraxel laser getting even better results with less downtime in just a single treatment. Using the UltraPulse Encore Laser which is a CO2 Aesthetic Laser system, superficial and moderately deep facial lines, scars and wrinkles can be reversed to reveal new and vibrant skin. Laser resurfacing provides significant advantages over conventional techniques in that patients see immediate visible results. It is a bloodless procedure so there is less chance of scarring or textural change and recovery is less painful. The results of skin resurfacing are usually very long lasting with proper skincare and maintenance.

Treatment
MaxFX treatment, performed at full power using PK anesthesia, is a surgical laser skin resurfacing procedure recommended for patients over the age of 40 with moderate to severe sun damage and signs of aging. This procedure produces the greatest results at the best price since only a single treatment is required. Laser resurfacing has two impacts. It provides for the precise removal of the top layer of skin, removing the extra fold causing the wrinkle or line, and leaving behind a normal skin surface. It also promotes collagen formation resulting in immediate and progressive "tightening" of the skin to provide a smooth, uniform appearance. This treatment uses the laser’s full power and therefore requires PK anesthesia administered by Dr. Barry Friedberg.

Recovery
The treatment area is fractionalized to target portions of the skin while leaving some areas untouched.  This technique promotes faster healing and enables deep penetration of the skin and maximum heating which delivers the desired results.  After the treatment there is redness which lasts for several days, followed by some flaking as the skin heals. Patients must avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. Most patients want to stay at home for three to five days.

There is redness and some discomfort after the procedure that can be relieved by a mild analgesic. Patients are also required to apply ice packs to the affected areas and apply prescribed ointments until healing is complete. Healing usually occurs within five days.
