Treatment
The procedure is performed in our office under local anesthesia. PermaLip™ is made of a soft, solid silicone elastomer using an injection molding process to produce a naturally contoured implant with a smooth, non-porous surface. The entire process generally takes less than an hour and normal activity may be resumed the following day.
Recovery
Rest quietly the rest of your surgery day. The next day you can perform routine activities. No exercise for 1-2 weeks. Sleep on your back with head elevated at least 7 days to minimize swelling. No bending over, lifting or straining for 3-4 days. Eat foods that are soft and require minimal chewing. The implant cannot rupture or deflate, and may be removed at any time.
