Among the latest generation of aesthetic technology, Ultherapy has quickly become one of the most requested treatments we perform at ADV in Fullerton. This non-invasive, non-surgical treatment counteracts the impact of time on your face, neck, and décolletage, and lifts, tones, and restores suppler, firmer, tighter skin quality.
Ultherapy firms and tightens the skin by bypassing the skin’s surface, delivering energy into the deeper layers of your skin structure. It functions by targeting the collagen layers hidden beneath the surface to stimulate the body to produce more of the substance. This process is called “neocollagenesis.” The regenerative processes of the skin are stimulated when the deeper skin layers absorb ultrasound energy. The connective tissues that are the foundation of firmer, tighter skin are stimulated to produce new collagen – the best possible skin tightening substance. As this non-invasive, non-surgical treatment works to trigger the skin’s natural regenerative response, results appear over the two to three months following treatment.
An Ultherapy treatment takes about 1 to 1 ½ hours to perform, depending upon the skin areas you want to rejuvenate and restore. The benefits of Ultherapy treatment include:
The first step is to identify the areas of your face, neck, or décolletage that are beginning to droop, wrinkle, or sag. After the treatment areas are identified, your skin will be cleaned and the ultrasound gel applied. The treatment applicator is then placed against your skin, producing an image of your skin’s structure. This advanced imaging technology makes it possible to precisely identify the optimal depth at which to deliver the ultrasound waves.
You will feel the sensation of the sound energy as it enters your skin, but most patients feel very little discomfort during the procedure. The tingling, stinging sensation is the first step in the process of triggering your body to rebuild the collagen layer. After treatment, you can return to your normal activities with no restrictions. Some patients have a slightly flushed appearance, minor swelling, or a tender sensation, but these effects are minimal and disappear quickly.
This treatment is an alternative to facelift surgery and appropriate for those who are living with the earlier stages of aging skin. An Ultherapy treatment doesn’t replace a facelift procedure, but can be an excellent alternative, particularly for patients who don’t want to undergo a surgical procedure. For older patients that have extensive wrinkling, sagging, and drooping, Ultherapy can be used as an added procedure to prolong the results of surgery. Most patients need only one treatment, but every person is different, living with varying degrees of skin laxity and the degree to which their skin responds to treatment.
The skin in the brow area is delicate, fine, and exposed to the sun’s rays and the environment. It is often the first area that begins to show the signs of aging. The upper eyelid begins to droop, making your face look old and tired. The treatment, through the stimulation of the deep skin layers, causes the body to produce the collagen it needs to restore a more youthful look with the brow lifted and the upper eyelid having a more lifted look.
Your neck skin is often one of the first areas to appear saggy, wrinkled, and unattractive. Ultherapy can produce a dramatic improvement in skin quality in the area, without the need for surgery. As the collagen fibers grow and restore, the neck skin naturally contracts, becomes smoother, and looks fresher, younger, and firmer.
The skin on the chest can begin to look aged, with creases and wrinkles looking deeper. Rather than a smooth, fresh look, the décolletage skin begins to thin, leaving you with wrinkled chest skin that aged – and can be embarrassing to reveal – in lower necklines. Ultherapy helps to stimulate your own body’s regenerative processes to firm and smooth the area. Results appear in about three months, and continue to improve for up to six months after treatment.
