Advanced Skincare offers complimentary melanoma/skin cancer screenings
FULLERTON, CA - May 1, 2011 - Advanced Skincare joins the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery in promoting skin cancer awareness by offering free melanoma/skin cancer screenings to all new patients in our community.
Advanced Skincare will offer complimentary skin cancer screenings for all new patients in our center. The screenings will be held May 1 - 31, 2011. Dr. Sire and his medical team will conduct a clinical exam by observing lesions and moles. Educational materials will be provided for patients explaining how to prevent skin cancer.
“If you have a mole that is asymmetrical, with an irregular border, multiple colors, a diameter larger than a pencil eraser or one that is evolving, bleeding or itching, you should see your dermatologic surgeon immediately,” said Dr. Sire. People of all races and ages can develop skin cancer. People who work outside and fair-skinned people are at greater risk. The most common areas for skin cancer to develop are: face, neck, ears, scalp, back, and shoulders.
“As a dermatologic surgeon, I understand the importance of an early diagnosis because I regularly treat patients with skin cancer,” said Dr. Sire. If detection is early, there is a 100 percent survival rate, but more than a million people still die of the disease each year. The screenings are held annually to detect skin cancer and educate the public the importance of skin care. The screenings are available by appointment and for new patients only. Screenings will take approximately 15 minutes.
Please join us by communicating our free melanoma/skin cancer screening to your friends and family. They may contact our center at 714.879.9936 to schedule an appointment. If you’re an existing patient, please call our center for a clinical exam.
