Breana Valencia, Clinical Research Manager, joined Advanced Skincare Surgery & MedCenter in August 2013. She has over nine years of clinical research experience and extensive knowledge in phase I-IV pharmaceutical and device trials. Breana is the primary point of contact for investigators, sponsors and patients involved in Clinical Research studies. She oversees the clinical and administrative aspects of the research study process which includes: regulatory, budgets, contracts, marketing and lead development.
Breana has also implemented the partnering of Advanced Skincare Clinical Research with outside physicians. As a result, physicians who specialize in any area of medicine are now able to partner with Advanced Skincare to bring clinical research to their private practice. Breana is responsible for strategically partnering with physicians and finding studies that fit the therapeutic specialty of the physician as well as the patient population. She is also responsible for management, implementation and training for each clinical research study.
Education & Experience
Breana graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and in 2009 went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in Public Health with a focus in Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. In 2005, she began her career working for a contract research organization where she audited, trained and managed clinical research studies. Breana worked on wide range of investigational drug studies including pediatrics, critical care/in patient, oncology and rheumatology. In 2010, as a Research Coordinator she was responsible for the management, oversight and implementation of clinical research studies.
Breana is passionate about clinical research and being able to offer treatments to patients who are not getting relief from current therapies.
Senior Clinical Research Coordinator
Sal Beltran is a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator at Advanced Skincare Surgery & MedCenter. He joined the Advanced Skincare family in early 2015, with 8 years of experience in Dermatology.
Sal is responsible for the management of Advanced Skincare Clinical Research, from the initial start up phase to recruitment, and enrollment and follow-up to close out of studies. Currently working in multiple clinical trials, Sal personally coordinates and assists physicians with patient visits; all study procedures and data collection, while focusing on patient safety. In addition, he is responsible for regulatory affairs for each study and laboratory processing.
Sal has a thirst for knowledge, which allows him to continue his work and explore future endeavors. Learning about the latest innovations of medical treatments was just the spark in his career in Clinical Research. His most enjoyable aspect of Clinical Research is overseeing the process of an investigational product reach its primary objective with participants in the study. During his free time, he actively promotes environmental awareness focusing on inner city communities in Hollywood, West Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles. He is a member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA).
