Treatments
Surgical scar revision is a method of removing the existing scar and rejoining the surrounding normal skin in a less obvious fashion.  This treatment is best suited for wide, pitted or depressed scars, especially those in prominent places.  This treatment is also effective way to straighten out scars that have healed in a particular pattern or shape. 

Recovery
Skin will heal in a normal process.  The treated area should be protected from the sun and care should be taken not to stretch the tissue as it heals.  This will help minimize the appearance of the new scar.  Sometimes laser treatments can help reduce the redness of scars.
