Can family or a friend wait for
me at the Center?
Yes. Family and friends may wait in our Post-Operative reception area. Depending on the procedure, recovery time will vary. The Surgery Specialist can estimate the recovery time. To ensure patient privacy and confidentiality, family members are not taken to the surgery area until discharge. Our nursing staff will keep family members informed of any changes or any reason for a longer stay than originally indicated. In addition, our staff will order lunch for a family or friend waiting for you during the afternoon.
I dont have any family members in my area to can take care of me. Are there Aftercare Nurses available?
Yes. Aftercare Nurses are available at an additional change should you require this service. A Registered Nurse (RN) will pick you up after surgery and will stay with you throughout the night. In addition, they will bring you back to our Center the following morning for your first Post-operative examination.

Can I drive myself home after surgery?
No.You are not allowed to drive yourself home following surgery or take a taxi cab home. You must make prior arrangements for a responsible adult over the age of 18 years of age to pick you up following surgery and remain with you for at least 18 hours after waking from Anesthesia.
In addition, you will need to arrange for transportation to the Center for your first Post-Operative examination. This usually takes place in 24 48 hours following surgery.
Are there certain medications that I cannot take prior to surgery?
Yes. For your safety, all prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, or health food sore supplements must be reported to our staff during your Pre-Operative examination. A complete list of all medications, herbs and vitamins that are NOT recommended prior to surgery will be provided to you. In addition a list of medications that ARE allowed for headache, pain or allergy will be provided.
