A thigh lift is designed for individuals who are self-conscious about their lower body appearance. If you have experienced a loss of skin elasticity in their thigh, hip or buttock area or the skin in this area has a flabby or dimpled appearance a thigh lift procedure can be the answer. The thigh lift is intended to produce tighter, more attractive thigh and buttock skin with improved contours.
The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis. Lifting the inner thighs requires only short incisions extending from the anterior part of the thigh/groin crease around to the buttock crease. Lateral or anterior thigh lifts can be performed as separate procedures if desired. The surgeon will show you what specific procedures are available to solve your particular problem.
The patient is placed in a compression garment, similar to an elastic support girdle, at the end of surgery to reduce swelling and assist in the natural shrinking and tightening of the skin. Bruising and swelling usually will subside within a month, strenuous activities are usually possible in six weeks and almost all symptoms are gone in four-six months.
